Product Care

Our philosophy is simple, we only make furniture that lasts.

Over their lifetime our products will need a little care and attention to ensure they can be enjoyed by generations to come.

The following information will help you care for your MOMU products in the best possible way.

Fabric

It is recommended to vacuum your fabrics on a weekly basis to remove any dust, dirt, and loose feathers that may have accumulated.

To address spills and stains promptly, simply dab the affected area with a damp cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners or scrubbing, as this could potentially damage the appearance of the fabric. If the stain proves to be challenging, it is best to consult with a professional fabric cleaner.

To keep your upholstery looking its best, it is recommended to schedule an annual cleaning appointment with a specialist fabric cleaner.

In addition, to maintain the color and appearance of your fabric, it is best to keep it out of direct sunlight and UV light.

Leather

Leather is a natural product characterised by unique tone and individual markings from the animal's life, such as creases, stretch marks, scars, and insect bites. Some softening and stretching is normal with use.

To keep your leather looking its best, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth once a week to remove dust and dirt particles that can damage the surface. For difficult stains, it is recommended to contact a specialist leather cleaner who can also assist with regular treatment to nourish and extend the life of your leather upholstery.

Cushions

For a well-maintained shape and loft, regularly reshape and rotate loose cushions where applicable. Over time, cushion fillings will settle and seat foams will soften. To invigorate scatter inserts, lay them in the sun to air.

Note that special fabrics have been selected to contain feathers, but occasional quills may still pierce through the covers. These can be easily removed by pulling the feather.

Timber

Timber is a natural product that reacts to its environment. To protect it, avoid extreme temperature and humidity changes, as well as contact with liquids and heat. Regularly wipe away dust and dirt. Do not let liquids sit on the timber surface, as they can penetrate and cause staining. Wipe up spills immediately with a damp cloth.

Note that the tone of the timber may change over time with exposure to UV light. To prevent this, protect it from direct and reflected sunlight. Do not use cleaners or polishes, as they can cause permanent damage or color variation. When placing or moving unglazed ceramics or items with an irregular base finish, take care as they may scratch the surface.

Solid timber products should not be kept on underfloor heating as the heat can cause the bottom side to dry differently than the top, leading to bowing, warping, or cracking.

Powdercoated Metal

To maintain its surface and appearance, regularly wipe metal with a damp soft cloth to remove particles that can cause wear.

Avoid contact with liquids, heat, and direct sunlight. Abrasive cleaning products are not recommended.
